Learn about Bojagi and enjoy making a coaster.

In Korean, Bojagi means cloths that can be used to wrap items. In old times, Korean women made Bojagi from leftover fabric by stitching them together. Today, Bojagi fascinates people not only as wrapping cloths but also as interior items or art pieces due to the variety of designs.

In this course, participants learn whip stitches for two-layered Bojagi, and make a coaster with Korean silk or ramie fabric. Let’s enjoy designing and hand sew our own, unique coasters!

No previous experience needed, beginners are welcome. This course is led by Seika, a Korean-Japanese sewing teacher and the course is given in English.

This course runs from 10.00 – 16.00, with a one hour lunch break in the middle. Bring your own lunch (a refrigerator and microwave are available). Alternatively, there is a bakery in the neighbourhood where you can buy lunch. The workshop is located in Social Fabric’s atelier at Eichstrasse 29, 8045 Zürich (next to Bahnhof Binz and the atelier is at the 3rd floor).

Cost: CHF 125 for one day workshop, including Korean fabric and other equipment.
