Last night we had our first class with local designer Mario Puntillo. We finished taking our measurements, and made a basic pattern for the trousers we’ll be sewing starting from next week. We had a nice group of ladies, and paused now and then for a sip of wine and a good laugh.
In the meantime, Social Fabric entered a competition for new entrepreneurs that haven’t actually founded a business yet. If you are curious to learn more about our project idea, have a look at our project at Innovate4Climate. If you are interesting in learning more about our ideas, or would like to actively participate in Social Fabric in some way, just contact us and ask us to have a chat.
We just posted some new courses for the end of March and the month of April. These include a couple of workshops (March 25th and April 1st) during which you can get professional tutoring for your own project. There is a workshop on the theme of up-cycling a man’s shirt starting on April 22nd. And there are a couple of options for beginners, including a tote bag workshop on April 12th, and a 4-part course for beginners on Thursday evenings starting April 9th. Check our workshop page for more detailed information.
Of course, don’t forget our free drop-in times on Tuesday evenings and Friday afternoons!
