After finishing my 3-years dressmaking studies in Estonia I worked in an atelier as a bespoke tailor. For several years I did clothes for the clients of different shape and taste. Being a person with broad interests I got another education (economic) and switched to office work (international volunteers project coordinator, travel agent, personal assistant of the IT director). After 3-years living in Spain I came to Switzerland and rediscovered sewing again. I started with toys, then skirts and other clothes. I love playing with fabrics, paying attention to techniques and sharing my skills with others.
3 years ago I discovered Social Fabric and joined them as a volunteer to teach refugees sewing. Later I became a beginners course teacher here.
It’s a special pleasure to see the happiness of a person who just finished his first sewn project! I can teach you the sewing basics as well as tricky techniques. I love to pay attention to details as pockets and collars. Private classes are a great way to concentrate on your own wishes. It could be adjusting your clothes, shortening the curtains, tiny baby clothes etc. I can show you how to work with ready-made patterns, how to use different sewing machines and tools.
If you dream about a perfectly fitting skirt, you are very welcome to visit my lessons!
I am interested in many handmade techniques, especially those that include fabrics and thread. My other hobbies are stop motion animation and hiking.
I teach in English and Russian (my mother tongue), I also speak Spanish, Estonian and basic German.
I am available:
Monday, Thursday, Friday afternoon
