Join this Mini-Lesson to get know the basics of an industrial sewing machine ( = straight stitch machine). It’s actually not more complicated to use than a domestic sewing machine, but there are a few tips you need to know. With an industrial sewing machine the sewing is faster, more accurate – and more fun. Industrial machines are more robust, so you can easily sew very thick materials like denim and canvas too, and attaching an invisible zipper is very easy as well, with the special presser foot.

Warning! Could be that you fall in love with industrial machines and don’t want to go back to domestic machines anymore ;). But luckily, as a Social Fabric member you can use our industrial sewing machines independently after this little lesson.

This class is suitable for people who have used a normal sewing machine before, but no other previous experience is needed – beginners and advanced sewers are both welcome! All the equipment and materials are included, no need to bring anything.

You can stay until 9pm and practice more with the industrial sewing machine, or work with some other sewing project under professional guidance.

This mini lesson is free for our members and for non-members the cost is CHF 55 (including the Social Sewing afterwards until 9pm). Maximum number of participants is 8, so please sign up in advance to reserve your spot. The teaching is in English but Helka can also guide in German.
