Would you like to sponsor the cost of a Social Fabric membership for a refugee?

We have a large community of people from a refugee background who come to Social Fabric to learn new skills, be in a ‘safe’ space, meet locals, and have fun.

As a person with a small income, it’s very difficult to find spaces in Zurich that don’t require you to consume (i.e. spend money), and having a safe space to spend time is very important to the well-being of many members of our community.

We have many participants in our programs at Social Fabric, and each participant can only spend a limited time with us. This is because we also have to use the space and our human resources to generate income to finance our costs – for example rent, salaries, materials, and equipment.

We would like to offer a limited number of membership stipends (10) to some of our refugee participants, so that they can come and go at Social Fabric whenever they like during our opening hours. Candidates for stipends will be asked to write a short application, explaining their motivation for applying (so they get to practice their job application skills). A small committee from Social Fabric will evaluate the applications, and select the more convincing participants to receive stipends. The number of stipends awarded will depend on the number of sponsorships received from our community.

Would you like to sponsor a refugee membership? You can do so as an individual, group or as an organization. We will get back to you by the end of the year to let you know who you have sponsored. Sponsored memberships will start in January, 2021, and will last for one year.

Payment options:

Bank transfer

Credit card

Sponsors will receive a 20% discount on our products and courses for one year as a small thank you.

Thanks in advance for supporting Social Fabric activities and our local community!
