Please note: Due to the COVID-19 crisis, we cannot offer open sewing classes now, and potentially, in the future, should Social Fabric need to close its doors permanently. But your donation will nevertheless support Social Fabric association as a whole, potentially help us to overcome the crisis and continue our work for refugees.

The Supportership Packages are set at higher amounts and are primarily aimed at organizations and organizational partners that have funds to make a contribution to non profits like Social Fabric.

Would you and your organization like to sponsor five free refugee morning courses – ‘Offener Nähkurs’ – for 15 refugees?

We have a large community of people from a refugee background who come to Social Fabric to learn new skills, be in a ‘safe’ space, meet locals, and have fun.

As a person with a small income, it’s very difficult to find spaces in Zurich that don’t require you to consume (i.e. spend money), and having a safe space to spend time is very important to the well-being of many members of our community.

Open Sewing Classes – ‘Offener Nähkurs’

Social Fabric Association has been working with refugees in Zürich since June, 2015. We offer a drop in sewing class for refugees every Monday and Thursday morning from 09.30 – 12.00 (except in July and December, when we are closed). Participants can learn how to make clothes and accessories using donated fabrics with the help of volunteers and the Social Fabric team.

Would you like to help us make sure that we can continuously offer free courses to refugees? With a contribution of 1375 CHF, you will finance five whole sewing courses for refugees for 15 people!
