It’s been a really exciting few weeks at Social Fabric. Mario Puntillo, a local designer who recently gave a course at Social Fabric, decided that he wants to be more involved in our programme in the future. I will meet with him next week, to discuss possibilities. Keep an eye on our workshop schedule during the next weeks, to see what he’ll be offering next.
In addition to our upcycling workshop that starts on April 22nd, we are offering two beginners workshops in April. Next Wednesday evening (April 15th; 7 – 10pm) we will do a simple skirt for beginners. On Sunday April 26th (10am – 1pm) we are offering a beginners course for making a computer or tablet case from felt. Send us an email at email@example.com to sign up.
Social Fabric is also considering to be involved in a new project that would entail offering business and technical training to refugees, and helping them to enter the Swiss workforce. We will have a meeting about this on Sunday afternoon (April 12th). If you are interested in this initiative, or think you might like to be involved, feel free to contact me for more information, or to attend the meeting.
Lastly, we just got some really cool new organic cotton fabric called barkcloth in stock. It’s a retro print, and has a really interesting look and feel. It makes really great bags, clothing, and household items, so contact us if you would like to order some (chf 44 per meter).
See you soon,
