In this five-part introduction to sewing course, we will go over different types of stitches, stitch lengths, thread types, sewing machine needles, and other technical details. We will practice projects working with woven fabric, jersey (stretchy fabric), and felt, and will complete several small projects – including a bag with a drawstring, a mobile phone case, and a t-shirt. Materials (except fabrics) are included.
Course cost: 330 CHF
The course will take place on five consecutive Monday evenings. The first course day is Monday, March 23rd. The last course day is Monday, May 4th. There will be a two week break because of Easter and Sechseläuten so the dates are: March 23rd, March 30th, April 6th, April 27th, and May 4th.
This class is taught by Lena, a tailor from Estonia with specialization in skirts. She also volunteers weekly during our open classes for refugees. She teaches in English but can also speak a little of Spanish, German and Russian.
